PEPSAFE SAFETY & COMPLIANCE CONSULTING

With a career in safety/risk management that began in 1989, I have amassed a wealth of knowledge in a wide array of companies that included 24+ years with a large Pepsi Cola franchise as their Regional Director of Safety & Risk Management.

A current member of the American Society of Safety Professionals since 02/93 and a past professional member of the Risk and Insurance Management Society for over 15 years, I am also a Certified Safety Consultant under the NYS Department of Labor’s Workplace Safety Program performing Code Rule 59 consultations.

After leaving Pepsi Cola, I was hired by Commercial Driver Training in West Babylon as their Manager of Education & Training. Through them, I qualified to become a certified instructor for the National Safety Council’s Defensive Driver program.

Currently, I am the sole proprietor of ‘PEPSAFE’ providing consulting services to a wide range of organizations. Most recently I have become part of Group Coverage Inc; a full-service insurance broker located in Deer Park, NY.

Group Coverage provides a host of services related to insurance and benefit planning to a long list of respectable clients and through this partnership, we are now able to offer a wide range of consulting services in regulatory compliance.

New York City Department of Consumer and Worker Protection Releases A New Notice for Employers

New York City’s Department of Consumer and Worker Protection (DCWP) has created a new one-page document for employer notice and posting requirements. The document itself provides a QR code that employees can easily scan to learn more information about a variety of topics that are applicable to them such as the Worker’s Bill of Rights, Paid Safe & Sick Leave, and other important NYC regulations.

The QR code sends the employee to the DCWP website, so all information is kept up to date by the DCWP itself.

Employers are required to post the QR code in a conspicuous spot frequented by employees and provide a copy to both new employees (on hire) and current employees. It is currently unknown if DCWP desires to have this replace other individual notice and posting requirements, so employers should continue to provide all documents required of them by state or city law, even if they would overlap with passages provided by the QR code.

These new requirements go into effect on July 1, 2024. You can find the QR code linking to all pertinent information HERE.
